In commercial photography, Wenzel's work has appeared in numerous regional and national publications including Sports Illustrated, American Photographer, Susquehanna Life magazine. In 1999, he received the Fujifilm Masterpiece Award for Best of Show Commercial /Industrial. His work has been featured in many annual reports, University publications, as well as appearing in the books: Letters to the Editors, Professional Photographers of America Loan Collection 1991, Professional Photographers of America Loan Collection 1995 and Professional Photographers of America Exhibit 1996. Creative use of lighting, contemporary urban locations and fashion sensibilites has won him 30 National Merit print awards including three "Loan Collection" prints. Other honors include being twice awarded the PP of PA trophy for Best Woman's Portrait, Best Man's Portrait and recognition by the Northeast PA Professional Photographers Association as "Photographer of the Year." Gordon has served as President of the North Central Photographers Association and on the Board of Trustees for the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. He has lectured to photography associations in three states and has taught two levels of photography at Susquehanna University.
