The Impressionist painters of the late 19th century---driven in part to the invention of the photographic camera as well as the traditional contraints of the Salon---sought to liberate their craft from conventional techniques and elevate their works to more emotional and expressive renderings. As a result, the work of Monet, Van Gogh, Degas and Renoir, continue to have a powerful effect on the viewers.

Impressions Photographic Studio & Gallery, founded in 1997, likewise strives to elevate photography from a mere documentation to an engaging, timeless, artistic expression. Rather than creating an image that merely records what a person looks like, we strive to create images that reflect who the person is or what their relationships are, while creating enduring works of art.

Although the majority of the work on display is commissioned, one does not need to know the subjects personally to appreciate the images. Each image engages the imagination and creates a compelling story based on each viewers own set of references. In this way, we create dynamic images that are profoundly different---setting us apart as the region's exclusive choice for artistic photography.
