Surrounding wall space has a lot to do with basic interior design. Most interior designers recommend that a piece of art should occupy at least fifty percent of the wall space available. A smaller size will diminish the images presence. Of course, the inverse is true: if the scale is too large for the space, it will overpower and look out of place.
